Ticket Quantity Discounts
How to set up automatic discounts when buyers purchase several tickets of the same type.
What Quantity Discounts Are
Quantity discounts (tiered discounts) automatically lower the price when a buyer takes several tickets of the same type in one order. They're an effective tool for:
- Encouraging group purchases
- Selling "bring a friend" bundles
- Quickly closing out sales as the event date approaches
Where to Set Them Up
Quantity discounts are configured per ticket type:
Portal → Your event → "Edit" → "Tickets" tab → select a ticket type → "Discounts" section
How the Tiers Work
For each discount tier, set:

| Discount | The discount percentage |
Example: Three Tiers
| Minimum | Discount | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 10% | From the 2nd ticket, each one is 10% cheaper |
| 5 | 20% | Buy 5+ and each one is 20% cheaper |
| 10 | 30% | Buy 10+ and each one is 30% cheaper |
The discount is calculated per ticket based on its position in the order. The first ticket always pays full price.
Important Limitations
- Quantity discounts only apply within a single ticket type in one order
- The final order total can't drop below zero
- Discounts stack with promo codes
Adding and Removing Tiers
Click "Add tier" to add a new discount. To remove a tier, click the delete icon next to it.
Changes take effect immediately once you save the ticket type.

FAQ
Does the discount apply to every ticket in the order, or only the "extra" ones above the minimum?
No. The first ticket always pays full price. The discount applies from the ticket whose position number meets or exceeds the threshold. With a minimum of 2, tickets 2, 3, 4 and onwards are all discounted.
Can I set different discounts for different ticket types in one event?
Yes. Each ticket type has its own independent discount tiers.
Do quantity discounts work together with promo codes?
Yes. If a buyer has a promo code, both discounts stack. The final total can never be negative.
Do quantity discounts affect the organiser payout?
Yes. The organiser payout is calculated from the amount actually paid, after all discounts are applied.
