Stripe Connect Setup Step-by-Step Guide
Connecting Stripe to Tixflow is the final stage before launching sales. The entire process takes place on Stripe's side, ensuring your data remains completely confidential.
What to prepare in advance
To complete registration in 5–10 minutes and avoid doing it twice, have the following ready:
-
Identification: A scan or clear photo of your passport or ID card.
-
Bank Details: Your account number (IBAN) for revenue payouts.
-
Business Information: Tax ID (for companies/sole traders) and a link to your event website or social media.
Step 1. Launch
In your Tixflow dashboard, click Connect Stripe.
-
If you already have a Stripe account: enter your email, log in, and select the profile you wish to link.
-
If you don’t have an account: the system will automatically start creating a new profile.
Step 2. Account Type
Select the legal status that matches your activity:
-
Individual / Sole Proprietorship: for individuals and private entrepreneurs.
-
Company: for LLCs and other organizations.
-
Non-profit: for charitable foundations.
Step 3. Verification (KYC)
This is a standard banking identity check. You will need to provide your full name, date of birth, and address.
Important regarding photos: Upload a color image of your document without glare. Ensure all four corners of the document are in the frame; otherwise, the system will ask for a retake.
Step 4. Business Description
Here are the most common tips for filling out the fields:
-
Industry: choose "Entertainment & Recreation" or "Event organizers".
-
Business Website: if you don't have a separate website, paste a link to your event's social media page or the direct link to your event on Tixflow.
Step 5. Linking your account
Enter the bank details where you wish to receive payouts.
Tip: Ideally, the account currency should match the ticket sales currency to avoid unnecessary conversion fees.
Step 6. Completion
Review your data on the final screen and click Submit. You will be automatically redirected back to the Tixflow dashboard.
What next?
Once registered, the status in your dashboard will change to Connected.
"Pending" status: Stripe is verifying your documents. This usually takes from a few minutes up to 24 hours. You can already set up events, but sales will activate once the verification is complete.
Document request: if the photo check fails, you will receive an email from Stripe asking you to update the file.
Done!
Your sales are now set up, and funds will be deposited directly into your account.
FAQ
What if I don’t have an official company website?
Stripe requires a link to verify your business. If you don't have a website, just provide a link to your Instagram or Facebook business page, or the direct link to your event created on Tixflow. This is sufficient for moderation.
Why is my status stuck on "Pending"?
This is a standard document review by Stripe's security team. It usually takes a few minutes to a few hours, but in rare cases, it can take up to 24 hours. You can continue setting up events in Tixflow, but sales will open as soon as the account is confirmed.
Stripe is asking to re-upload the document photo. What’s wrong?
Usually, the automated system rejects photos due to camera flash glare, cropped edges, or low resolution.
Pro Tip: Take the photo in natural light, placing the document on a flat, dark surface. Ensure all four corners of the document are visible.
Can I use a personal bank account or do I need a business account?
If you register as an Individual / Sole Proprietorship, you can link your personal account. If you register as a Company, the account must belong to the legal entity.
How do I change bank details after setup?
All financial data is managed directly in the Stripe dashboard. Log in to your Stripe account, go to Settings → External Accounts, and update your IBAN.
Is it safe to enter my ID details in the system?
Yes. You are entering data into Stripe’s secure gateway, not on Tixflow. We have no access to your documents or bank details. Stripe complies with international data security standards used by the world's largest banks.
