Why Payments Run Through Stripe Connect
How TixFlow's payment architecture works, why the money goes directly to you, and what Stripe Connect is.
The Money Goes Directly to You
On most ticketing platforms, the money first lands in the platform's account and is only forwarded to the organiser later — sometimes weeks after the event. TixFlow works differently.
With Stripe Connect, the buyer's money goes directly to your Stripe account and becomes available to withdraw within 1–3 business days (up to 7 days for your first transaction). TixFlow never holds your funds or acts as a middleman.
How the money flows:
Buyer's card → Your Stripe account → Your bank account
Bank-Level Security
Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified — the highest security standard in the payments industry. Buyers' card data is encrypted and processed directly by Stripe, bypassing TixFlow's servers. We never see or store card details.
Many Payment Methods Out of the Box
Stripe automatically presents buyers with the payment methods available in their country. Beyond card payments, this includes Apple Pay, Google Pay, Revolut Pay, BLIK (Poland), Klarna, iDEAL (Netherlands), and many more — depending on the buyer's region. No need to enter card details manually when a local payment method is available.
Fraud Protection
Stripe Radar is a built-in machine-learning system that analyses every transaction and blocks suspicious payments. This reduces the risk of chargebacks and fraudulent refunds.
Transparent Reporting
The Stripe Dashboard automatically builds a detailed history of every transaction, payout, and refund. The data is available at any time and is easy to export for accounting.
Do I Need a Separate Stripe Account?
Yes. You need your own Stripe account — it's your personal financial profile. If you don't have one, you can create it for free right during the connection process with TixFlow. See Connecting Stripe.
FAQ
Do I need an existing Stripe account?
Not necessarily. If you have an account, connect it. If you don't, the system will offer to create a new one during the connection process.
Does TixFlow have access to my money?
No. TixFlow technically routes the payment to your Stripe account, but has no right to manage your funds. You are the sole owner of your Stripe account.
When will the money be available to withdraw?
Usually within 1–3 business days of the purchase. The exact timing depends on your Stripe account settings and country. See Payouts & Statuses.
What happens to the money if I cancel an event?
The money stays in your Stripe account. Refunds to buyers must be processed manually through the Stripe Dashboard. See Refunds & Disputes.
Does Stripe charge an extra fee for Connect?
No. The Stripe processing fee is included in the calculation and shown to either the buyer or the organiser depending on the includeFees setting. There's no separate charge for Connect.
