Scanning Tickets
How to verify attendee tickets at the door using TixFlow's built-in QR scanner.
How the Scanner Works
There are two ways to scan tickets — through the mobile app or through your browser.
Mobile App (recommended)
- Android: TixFlow on Google Play
- iOS: TixFlow Scanner on the App Store
Web Scanner
Runs directly in the browser — no install required. Convenient when you don't have time to download the app.
To use it you need:
- A device with a camera (smartphone or tablet)
- A modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox)
- An active internet connection
- Camera access (the browser will ask for permission on first launch)
Accessing the Scanner
Open the app or go to tixflow.org/scanner in your browser.
You'll see a list of the events you have scanning access to. Events happening right now are marked with a NOW badge.
To get scanner access, a user must be invited as an organiser scanner or a scanner for a specific event. See Scanner Access Management.
The Scanning Process
1. Choose an event
Tap an event in the list. The scanner screen opens with the camera.
2. Point the camera at the QR code
Hold the camera up to the QR code on the attendee's ticket (PDF, Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, or a phone screen — all are accepted).
3. Read the result
The verification result appears instantly:
| Result | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Valid | The ticket is fine, let the attendee through |
| Used | The ticket has already been scanned — re-entry is not allowed |
| Invalid | The ticket doesn't belong to this event or has been cancelled |
4. Progress counter
At the bottom of the screen you'll see a counter showing how many tickets have been scanned out of the total sold.
Tips for Events
- Multiple scanners at once — several devices can scan the same event in parallel without conflicts
- Weak internet — the scanner only works when connected to the network; make sure the venue has Wi-Fi or mobile data
- Screen brightness — ask attendees to turn up their screen brightness if the ticket is shown on a phone
- Laminated tickets — for printed tickets, make sure the QR code doesn't have any glare

FAQ
Do I need to download the app?
Not necessarily. There are native apps for Android and iOS — they run faster. If you'd rather not install anything, use the web scanner in your browser at tixflow.org/scanner.
What if the internet drops out during the event?
The scanner needs a connection to verify each ticket in real time. Without internet, verification isn't possible. Make sure the venue has a stable connection beforehand.
Can I scan tickets from Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?
Yes. The QR code in the wallet is identical to the one in the PDF ticket. The scanner accepts any format.
Who can scan tickets?
Users with any of these roles: event scanner, organiser scanner, event editor, organiser editor. The organiser owner also has access. See Scanner Access Management.
How do I view scanning stats after the event?
Scanning data is shown in the Statistics section of the portal. See Sales Statistics.
